Phyto-bioefficiency of Vijaya Extract for Normal Cell Protection and Its Anticancer Efficiency Against Breast Cancer Xenograft

Abstract

Cannabis is an annual, dioecious, flowering herb. Its leaves are palmately compound by serrate leaflets. Cannabis sativa maximum phytochemicals are soluble in organic solvent. The Cannabis plant has been historically used due to its medicinal properties since thousands of years through several beliefs. In India, the department of narcotics has sanction that Cannabis can be grown in a monitored way with proper approval and license. The present study concludes that Cannabis sativa leave’s extracts have cytotoxic effect as some of the column chromatographically isolated fractions (50 mg/ml) show decrease in cell viability by MTT assay. As supporting study, the results of our in vitro investigation suggest that the Cannabis sativa is considered as medicine which is safe for use in humans after other advance confirmative parameters and after proper clinical trials. This work revealed that after further research, cannabis can be useful in certain types of medical conditions, which can lead to the development of various herbal medical cannabis products.
