Abstract

Aquatic animals provide useful data for toxicological evaluations. Ascorbic acid acts as a detoxifier reduces which toxicity of pesticides. In this present work Ascorbic acid indicates positive role in detoxification. The study was carried out on the fresh water fish, Channa orientalis (Schneider) These aquatic organisms are adaptive and convenient for laboratory experimentation for toxicity testing. The role of ascorbic acid on experimental fish, Channa orientalis is discussed in this paper. The structural and functional status of experimental fish, Channa orientalis was studied. The findings of present study provide more effective understanding of toxicological consequences of pesticide. In present study ascorbic acid acts as a detoxifier which reduces the toxicity of pesticides. Thus indicates positive role in detoxification. It is important for well-being of dependents i.e. human and other related populations. It provides data to predict effects of toxicants on the life. Results of these studies will also be useful in maintaining the quality of life and environment.
