Do Kesh Raksha Gel Repair Hair Damage?
Abstract
The effect of Siddha proprietary formulation Kesh Raksha gel containing following herbs Phyllanthus emblica, Murraya koengii, Lawsonia alba, Indigofera tinctoria, Hibiscus rosa sinensis and Eclipta prostata was evaluated for hair damage repair through in vitro experiment. Hair damage was implicated by different means such as, alkali treatment, bleach treatment, ironing and damaged hair was treated with KR gel and observed under microscope for changes in cuticular morphology, cortex swelling and medullary damage. The findings compared with hair pretreated with KR gel and were subjected to various types of damages. The findings are presented in the paper.
